Congressman John R. Carter will host the 3rd Annual Central Texas Academy Forum on Saturday, September 23rd in Warrior Hall at Texas A&M University-Central Texas from 9 am until 12 noon. The event is FREE and no reservations are needed. All citizens, parents, students, and educators interested in the US Service Academy nomination process are encouraged to attend. High school students (9th-12th grades) are welcome. A full program will be presented. This event is not come and go.

 If interested, stop by the counselors’ office to pick up a flyer.

Dominique Owens Memorial Fund-Deadline: May 12, 2017

Must have attended Cedar Valley Elementary for at least one school year.

Academic performance must be at least 2.5 G.P.A.

A required essay, “CVES prepared me to make a difference in today’s society” shall be the first consideration for awarding the scholarship

Applicants must be planning to attend at least 12 hours as a full-time student, in a public or private supported community college, upper or four year college or university.

Applicant has shown documentation of participating in a community service, and/or extracurricular events including part time work within their senior high school year.

Applicants must submit official transcript of their completed high school record and essay of 300 words or less, which explains their need for the scholarship and their current educational objective.

This information is due or at least postmarked by May 12, 2017 to Cedar Valley Elementary School, 4801 Chantz Dr., Killeen, TX 76542
