A reminder to seniors that Evening Academy will begin on Tuesday, January 31st.

The Globe Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association is funding a special scholarship through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund.  A GPA of 2.5 or better is required.  Pick up the scholarship opportunity in the Guidance Office.

The Bell County Medical Society and Medical Alliance of Bell County is awarding 4 scholarships to students who reside in and attend a Bell County college or university while pursuing a career in a medically-related field.  Pick up an application in the Guidance Office.

Renowned cancer center offers exciting summer research opportunities for both graduating seniors and High School teachers.  Pick up more information in the Guidance Office.

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is sponsoring a Sader Day on January 30th.  This event is free and you have a chance to sit in on classes, talk with current students, tour the campus, eat in the cafeteria and attend financial aid seminars.  Sign up to attend online at http://future.umhb.edu/sader-days.

The Texas Department of Transportation is accepting applications to the Conditional Grant Program for seniors planning on a career in civil engineering.  Students can receive up to $3,000 each semester.  More information is available in the Guidance Office or on the website at www.txdot.gov/careers.

Do you have a 3.0 GPA?  You may apply for the Slough Scholarship.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Scholarship is open to all seniors.  An essay is required on: Why community service is important and how it shapes our community?

LULAC Scholarship

The LULAC Scholarship is open to all seniors.  Pick up an application in the Guidance Office.

Rising high school juniors and seniors can apply for the Summer Veterinary Enrichment Camp.  Applicants are required to have experience with animals, and have a minimum of 3.0 GPA.  Deadline for postmarked materials is February 17th.  More information is available by calling Brady Dennis at 800-874-9591 or visit the vetmed.tamu.edu/bims/future/veterinary-enrichment-camp.

All seniors may apply for this scholarship.  Essay on Cyber Bullying is required.  Pick up an application in the Guidance Office.

Recipients must enter into an agreement requiring a four-year commitment as a member of the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, Texas State Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Merchant Marine or as a commissioned officer in any branch of the armed services of the United States.  Students must meet two of four criteria.  For details, inquire in the Guidance Office.

Aggieland Saturday

Texas A&M is sponsoring Aggieland Saturday on Saturday, February 18th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Join them for a one-day, on campus open house.  Take a campus tour, visit your college of interest, get information about financial aid and much more!  More information is available at www.admissions.tamu.edu/aggielandsaturday.

Sophomores and Juniors who would like to take Dual Credit English and/ or Dual Credit History may sign up to take the Accuplacer in the Guidance Office.

Attention Seniors

Seniors, If you failed a class 1st Semester, remember to turn in your Evening Academy form as soon as possible.

Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study.  Available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.

Seniors are required to submit an essay on the following topic:  “How Golf has influenced my personal life and education goals.

Seniors who are planning to attend University of Texas, San Antonio can pick up an application in the Guidance Office.

Are you a senior who plans to major in a course of study that focuses on Engineering/Technology or design and business related programs?  You may be eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Planning on becoming a teacher after graduating from college?  Seniors can pick up a scholarship opportunity in the Guidance Office.

The Military Child Education Coalition and From the Top will host Christopher O’Riley, the hit NPR radio program showcasing America’s best young classical musicians. It is  seeking young musicians with military parents for its live show recording on June 27th.  Students from 8 to 18 can pick up information in the Guidance Office.  Solo performers on all instruments, composers and vocalists, as well as instrumental or vocal ensembles are welcome.  Up to $10,000 in scholarships are given.  More information is available in the Guidance Office or online at www.fromthetop.org or www.militarychild.org.
